Sabhalam - 2003
Sabhalam, provides an insight into the familial relations of the contemporary world. Barrister Nambiar and his wife Subhadra, even in the twilight of their lives, love and care for each other very much. Nambiar gives up his profession and settles for a quiet life with his wife in a remote village. Here, he is no longer in a hurry nor does he have to plan anything. One at heart, they always listen to each other and their marriage has stood the test of time. It is like the concept of 'Ardhanareeshwara' of Hindu mythology, of Lord Shiva and Parvathy, interdependent from beginning to end, loving and nurturing one another to the very end.

And then, in a trance-like condition, Kuniyamma begins a search for her son, not ready to take into account the truth that her son is no more.
