Patham Nilayile Theevandi - 2009
The film deals with schizophrenia in a different angle. Sankaran, a railway gang man is sacked for drinking on duty. He couldn’t help drinking, as he couldn’t stand the noise of the trains. Later, diagnosed with schizophrenia, he gets admitted in a mental hospital. No one visited him during his long stay in the hospital. He continuously wrote to his son Ramu for 15 years without getting any reply. Ramu, now a well-placed engineer, starts hearing trains exactly as Sankaran used to experience after receiving the last letter from his father.
