Yacob, the patriarch of a Christian clan migrated to a difficult land in the Western Ghats, inhabited by wild animals, which destroyed their crops. Malaria, the killer disease wiped out his entire family, except his little son Elias. Elias and an orphaned Mariamma grew up under the protective eyes of Father Damien. Once he went to college, he came under the influence of communism. Meanwhile, Father Damienís preachings and social service mentality put him in direct conflict with the estate management and the institutionalized church. Elias fell in love with Mariamma and she got pregnant. Before he could marry her, he is killed. Father Damien sees in these tragedies the sign of the Doomsday. For Yohannan, the death of his son is unbearable. Amidst all this, a hope for a changing emerges...
