Vembanad - 1990

A fisherman throws his nest through the mist over the sea and waits for the catch. He can see something afloat like a coloured balloon. It is in fact a teenage girl who is drowning. The fisherman jumps into the water and saves her. The man takes her to his hut where she shares the daily life of the family. One day, as the rest of the family is out, the fisherman comes into the house and takes the young girl in his arms. She yields unemotionally, leaving the exploring hands of the fisherman a free play. The wife and children come back to the house and discover what happened in their absence. In the end the opening sequence repeats, the fisherman watches her drown.
